CAPTAIN TONY BUFFA FISHING CHARTERS
Fishing Report #8 04/28/07
Hello so quickly again my friends who like to float: Just another outstanding day of fishing out of Oswego Harbor. Jerry and Marie Blackmon and neighbor Ron Haven from Cicero, NY enjoyed the morning on Lake Ontario. We fished at the "Rice Bowl" (the bay at Rice Creek) where the water was heavily influenced by Rice Swamp, last night's rain and a significant chop due to a westerly wind. The right temperature, some chocolate stain and visiting alewives set the stage for some quick action.
This limit catch of 9 browns came after two hours of trolling in 8 to 20 feet with Smithwick Rattlin Rogues and Jr. Thundersticks. The new Gary Roach (Banana Bread Smithwick) made a fine debut by catching its share of browns. We actually boated 11 and kept 9. Of the 11 boated 10 were caught on the surface off of Big Jon Otter Boats which also made their debut on the Bandito III. We left the dock at 9:30 A.M. and had the limit by 11:30 A.M. The next two hours were spent in search of Lake Trout over the deeper colder water but to no avail. I do not have a charter for this Tuesday, May 1 and the fishing is so good that I would like to be on the water. I'll need five individuals at $100.00 each to put together a his, mine and yours charter. If you are interested call me at (315) 427-2278 or send an email. No need to leave the dock too early. A 6:30 A.M. start would be sufficient and we would be off the water by 12:30 P.M. If you can fit this in your schedule you won't be disappointed. The five charter boats that left Oswego Marina this morning all limited and that has been the norm during the past week.
Very fishfully your, cap'n tony
