Hello to
the
fishpeople:
Another
week,
another
fishing
report.
Ah the
vagaries
of
fishing!
Just
when you
think
you have
figured
it out
the fish
don't
think
the way
you do.
On Sat.,
May 23
rd. MY
GAL CAL
II and
her two
charters
(
morning
and
afternoon)
boated
an
aggregate
of 25
walleyes
and kept
a total
of
twenty
(ten
each
outing).
The
flats,
south of
buoy 119
provided
the
venue
for me
and Matt
Dolansky,
Ralph
Moore
and dad,
Tom
Dolansky
all from
the New
Harford,
NY area.
A stiff
east
wind at
15 knots
provided
a
vigorous
drift.
Both the
Bass Pro
Shops
half
ounce XPS
Lazer
Blade
(gold)
and the
half
ounce black/purple
jig
brought
walleyes
to the
boat.
You can
see them
in the
forefront
of the
picture.

The
afternoon
group
from
4:00
P.M. to
7:00
P.M.
encountered
just the
opposite
condition...clam,
quiet
and
barely a
ripple
drift.
Surprisingly
the
walleyes
continued
to bite
and this
time it
was all
jig and
a night
crawler.
The
Jingalewski's,
Tom
(Saratoga),
Jerry
(Syracuse),
Bill
(Syracuse),
Mark and
daughter
Sam from
York, PA
applied
the
jigging
with
perfection.
Twelve
year
old Sam
was not
to be
outdone
she
landed
her
limit.

The very
next
day,
Sunday I
left the
dock
with all
the
confidence
that a
pattern
bite has
finally
setup on
the
little
"O".
Well to
my
dismay
we
boated
one
walleye,
one
burbot
and one
perch in
the same
vicinity
of the
previous
day's
catch.
So at
best
Oneida
continues
to be on
again
off
again.
My
advice...pick
the on
again
days.
On
Monday I
took the
Tavares's,
dad, and
sons,
Evan and
Ryan, from
PA,
neighbor,
Nevin
Meck
and cousin
Mark
Gomes
from NYC to
lake
Ontario
for
brown/steelhead.
It was a
tough
bite but
a fun
outing

The
Bandito III

now fishing
on a daily
basis. Call
