CAPTAIN TONY BUFFA FISHING CHARTERS
Fishing Report #1 01/16/07
Happy New Fishing Year to all my anglers & anglerettes: To borrow a quote from my wife "My Gal Cal" ("Cal" is for Carolyn Anne Lawson). "From this point forward this will be known as the 007 season!" I hope she wasn't implying that I'm being assigned a 'mission impossible'. With a mild to practically non-existent winter so far we should expect excellent survival and growth of bait fish as well as all naturally hatched game species. Even though I have only been off the water since November 30, 2006 I am already eagerly anticipating the April effort for browns on lake Ontario. To that end, I will be presenting a seminar at Bass Pro Shops in Auburn, NY this Sat., Jan., 20 at 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. My topics will be the Brown Trout fishery, Early season salmon, and the latest in Pheromone/Scent technology from Mustad. I will be covering the use of in-line planers, lead core, planer boards, Cannon's temperature/light gauge at the downrigger weight, early salmon tactics including spoon and fly choices and pheromone versus just scent. Here are a couple of early season browns caught by Mike and Debbie Shliapa from the Boston area.
I plan on giving 6 Sat. seminars at Bass Pro Shops. Here is the complete schedule:
